WZID's 12th annual Chill & Grill Blood Drive is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16th, from 11:00 a.m. till 7:00 p.m., at Nashua South High School. Over the years our listeners have donated almost 4900 pints of blood to the American Red Cross at this drive.

 There will be big changes this year, though. To help eliminate lengthy waits, we encourage donors to make appointments. Walk-in donors will still be welcome, but if you don't make an appointment you will wait longer to donate blood.

Why do you need an appoinment? The American Red Cross wants to make it as convenient as possible for you to donate...and they want your experience to be a positive one. Your time is valuable. Scheduling an appointment makes the donor process flow more smoothly and quickly. It also insures that the Chill & Grill blood drive is adequately staffed.

Food for this year's Chill & Grill will be provided by: Chick-fil-A; Texas Roadhouse; Domino’s Pizza; Dairy Queen/Orange Julius; Saturn of Manchester & Nashua; Hungry Herb's; Edible Arrangements and Hayward Ice Cream. We'll have coupons for car washes at Simoniz Car Wash, and kids activities supervised by Kindercare.

We'll also have free movie passes from Chunky Cinema Pub for the first 500 donors. And Nashua Community College will provide this year's collectible t-shirt!

Late Fee Forgiveness Program: Manchester is offering a two-month amnesty to parking ticket scofflaws. Until July 15th you can get caught up on your unpaid tickets without being assessed a late fee. The City has begun offering online payments with a major credit card. You can get the scoop here. Be warned, though, if you don't pay up by July 15th, Denver boot fees will double and special enforcement efforts begin.

Manchester's Airport: Flying Through Time Ed co-authored the book on the history of Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (which marked its 80th birthday in November!). The 432-page book is in its third printing and features more than 300 photos and illustrations.

Ed's Famous Cousin: Maybe you saw Corina Brouder sing and play the harp on NBC's "America's Got Talent." She didn't make the final cut but she is still part of a very talented family of musicians.
