British pop star Adele has been awarded substantial damages over pictures taken of her son.
The singer’s lawyer accepted the undisclosed five-figure sum on behalf of Adele’s 19-month-old son Angelo Adkins at the High Court in London on Wednesday. The payment settles a privacy case regarding pictures taken of the tot between June and November last year.
Bosses at photo agency Corbis Images U.K. Limited agreed to pay damages and legal costs, which Adele and her partner Simon Konecki will put in a trust for their child. Agency officials also vowed to never use the photographs again.
The singer’s solicitor Jenny Afia says, “Adele and Simon are pleased this matter has been resolved. They continue to do all they can to protect Angelo’s rights in relation to the paparazzi, including taking legal action where necessary… They will be holding the damages on trust on behalf of the claimant for this purpose.”
