Teen convicted in crash that injured 2

A Salem man has died after a terrible accident Tuesday evening.  Police said 33 year old Phillip Carter was attempting to pull out of the Salem Ford parking lot onto Route 28 when his car was struck.  Carter was ejected from his vehicle in the crash, which left his car split in half.

Carter was taken by a medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said speed is considered a contributing factor in the crash. Investigators are waiting for the results of toxicology tests to determine if drugs or alcohol may have also contributed to the crash.
