Budget negotiations begin

The NH House and Senate negotiators begin talks today on a $10.7 billion dollar budget.  Both sides agree on increasing funding for higher education along with services for the mentally ill and disabled.  But they can’t agree on how to pay for spending.  The Senate has proposed a $50 million cut in state staff and benefits which is not going over very well in the House..
