Casino recommendation loses by 1 vote

It was a squeaker but a House committee has recommended killing a bill that would legalize a casino in New Hampshire by just one vote. The House Ways and Means and Finance committees voted 23-22 against a bill that would allow up to 5,000 video slot machines and 150 table games. Even with the recommendation to kill the bill, groups are working on changes to it to try to win votes to pass it next week in the House.
