High Winds blamed for death and outages

Authorities say a tree fell on a 54-year-old man in Laconia, killing him while he worked to clear another tree that had fallen on a roadway.  Firefighters responded to a report of a person struck by a downed tree around 4 p.m. Sunday and found the Tilton man dead after cutting away debris.  Windy conditions throughout New England Sunday caused downed power lines and fallen trees and left tens of thousands without power.
