Insurance now available for same-sex couples

State workers in a same-sex marriage can now add their spouse to their insurance plan. The State Employees Association is letting members know this week that they have from now until the end of the month to do so. It’s all because of the Supreme Court overturning the Defense of Marriage Act earlier this year. Same-sex couples are now able to enroll for medical and dental insurance, as well as flexible spending accounts.
