A 48-year-old Manchester man faces a first-degree assault charge for stabbing his elderly neighbor in the neck with a syringe.  According to police, Richard Crawford had access to insulin-filled hypodermic needles and told the woman he wanted to talk to her about another tenant.  The 78-year-old woman was hospitalized for observation.
