2013 KIDS COUNT Data Book  reveals New Hampshire earned the top award in the nation for family and community… but when it comes to test scores more than half of all Granite State fourth- and eighth- graders are not proficient in the subjects. The Nashua Telegraph also reporting   the number of teens who abuse drugs has gone down over the last several years, but is still above the national average. In addition  the number of children in single-parent households in New Hampshire rose since 2005.
