Reams loses bid for reinstatement

The Rockingham county attorney suspended last week amid a state and federal investigation has lost his first bid for reinstatement.  James Reams was in Merrimack County Superior Court to argue that the state’s attorney general did not have the authority to strip him of prosecutorial authority because no criminal charges were filed. The judge said Reams must file a separate motion to challenge Foster’s authority. Neither Reams nor his lawyer, Michael Ramsdell, have been told what the investigation is about.
