A man who prompted two New Hampshire school districts to issue warnings to students and parents was arrested last night in Connecticut. Craig Shertzer was wanted on aggravated assault and grand theft charges in Florida. Police in New Hampshire were alerted that he had connections in Nashua and might have been headed there. Manchester school officials and Nashua school officials then issued the warnings. Shertzer was considered armed and dangerous.
The boxer's imprisonment, and battle to free him, are immortalized in the Bob Dylan song "Hurricane" and the film of the same name, starring Denzel Washington.
