Somersworth man accused of smothering a toddler

Jared Pope of Somersworth is accused of smothering his girlfriend’s two year old son because he was fussy.  Police say Pope was alone with the boy last Friday when he wrapped him in a sheet, tied him down with a rope and placed a large duffel bag over him.  He  initially said the boy choked but later admitted to being involved in the boys death.  Pope is now held on  250-thousand dollars bail.
