Journey Ewell

DEDICATED. Kathleen Davidson describes Journey as a jack-of-all-trades that keeps everything at the Manchester Animal Shelter running smoothly.  A volunteer since 2003, Journey does it all, whether it be assisting in surgeries, finding foster guardian for animals that need extra care, fundraising for the shelter, handling behind-the-scenes management of the shelter staff, or managing the many programs the shelter has to offer, and she does it all for the love of animals with no compensation.  In 2009,  Journey became co-president of the FMAS Board of Directors and, since then, has started many successful programs like the ‘Fix-a-Pit’ clinic  for Pitbulls and the ‘Quick Fix’ clinic to spay and neuter cats.  She also started the southern dog transport program that takes dogs facing euthanasia in high-kill southern shelters and adopts them out.  Journey has partnered with Petsmart and Petco to get more animals visible in the community for adoption as well.  Going forward, she is now committed to expanding the Manchester Animal Shelter, because it desperately needs more room.  Journey shows compassion for all animals and goes the extra mile to make sure they have happy homes.
