Outstanding Women

OUTSTANDING.  Rosie Garvey describes her mother as the definition of outstanding.  Since her daughter’s diagnosis with Cystic Fibrosis as an infant, Paula has never given up on finding a cure.  She is present at most CF fundraisers and has run her own annual event, Taste For A Cure, for almost 8 years. She spends months calling restaurants, getting auction items, and marketing the event.  Last year the “Taste” brought in over $120,000.  Paula also makes fused glass jewelry and decorations called “Rosie’s Roses Glass Creations,” in which 100% of the proceeds go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Last year she received certification in the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities Program at UNH and has applied this knowledge to the debate over Medicaid expansion testifying in Concord in the House and the Senate.  She also convinced Representatives Carol Shea-Porter and Annie Kuster to join the Cystic Fibrosis Caucus.  Paula is truly inspirational to her daughter and everyone she meets.
