GIVING.  Linda Sellner says once you get to know Robin and understand how much she does for others and her students, you will be amazed.  Robin is an Art teacher at Nashua High South and makes sure every student is treated with respect.  She encourages them to learn in an environment where they are not judged, and she makes each person feel special.  Since 1995, Robin has been leading the Empty Bowls fundraiser for the soup kitchen in Nashua, raising almost $10,000 annually.  Robin spends hundreds of hours of her own personal time preparing for this event.  Students and staff make over 700 bowls.  Each person who participates in the fundraiser receives one of these handmade bowls and can sample of variety of soups and breads donated by local restaurants and bakeries.  Students learn how the event has such a positive impact on the community through Robin’s passion for helping others who are less fortunate.  She is also a Teacher’s Union Representative and was instrumental in helping Nashua obtain a long overdue contract.  In 2012, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor, but remained hopeful.  She learned to walk again through her strength of character and tenacious attitude.  Robin is a teacher that students never forget.
