Outstanding Women

Sheila Murray
Sheila Murray

“She listens to the problems of others and helps them find a solution that works.” That is how
Maureen describes Sheila Murray, who gives to her extended family, her immediate family, her
neighbors, her town, and the schools. As the Voter Registrar, Sheila is the longest-serving elected official in Salem, drives senior citizens to appointments as part of The CareGivers, Inc.,
volunteers at the Soup Kitchen in Derry, and is a board member of the Salem Family Resources.
Before retiring from her job as the Children’s Librarian at the Kelly Library, she could be found reading at Story Hour or helping children and teens select the perfect book. Sheila is active in the lives of her 8 grandchildren and is an enthusiastic helper with school projects, making special birthday cakes, or attending school programs and athletic events. Sheila sets the example for others to follow.
