On September 26, 2020, at approximately 1:25 am, a Manchester Police officer driving in the area of Elm St and Concord St observed three males, two on ATV’s and the third on a dirt bike driving toward his cruiser. The vehicles were swerving, doing wheelies, and revving their engines. They were also giving police the middle finger and yelling. The male on the dirt bike drove directly in front of the cruiser and the officer even had to slow down to avoid hitting him. The same individual also punched the side view mirror of another officer’s cruiser.

The officer activated his emergency lights and siren and attempted to stop the individuals, but they sped off. A brief pursuit was initiated but due to safety concerns it was called off in the area of Kimball and Upland Streets.

Officers searched the area and ultimately located one of the subjects driving an ATV. He was identified as 34 y/o Ira Grayson on Manchester. Grayson was arrested and charged with Riot, Disobeying an Officer, and Operating Under the Influence of Liquor. It was also discovered that Grayson was on federal probation for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Grayson was released on bail and his court date is TBD.
