Car Fire on I-95

On November 13, 2019 at approximately 1620 hours, Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police- Troop A barracks responded to a report of a motor vehicle fire along the exit two off-ramp, from Interstate 95 (north) in the town of Hampton.

Preliminary investigation shows that a 2017 Hyundai Tuscon, being driven by Nicole Gustafson (age 45) of Amesbury, MA, suffered un unknown mechanical failure. This malfunction caused the vehicle to begin smoking, and ultimately became fully engulfed in flames. Gustafson was able to exit the vehicle to avoid any injury and there were no other occupants at the time of this event.

As a result of the incident, a large portion of the exit ramp was closed for approximately 30 minutes while emergency personnel worked to extinguish the fire and clear the roadway.

Assisting the New Hampshire State Police at the scene was the Hampton Fire Department, as well as the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
