Boston Police say a man, identified as 46-year-old Tyler Brown, opened fire with an assault-style weapon on Memorial Drive in Cambridge, randomly shooting at people and cars.

A former Marine, as well as an arriving state trooper, were able to subdue Brown. He was treated at the scene and later taken to a Boston hospital.
