HUDSON, N.H.- Authorities say three dogs and a parrot are receiving medical care after they were removed from a home earlier this week, in response to what first responders called the worst case of neglect they’ve ever seen.
Police say the two females and one male poodle mix were so matted with fur when they were brought to a local veterinary clinic that they couldn’t see their bodies but have since been fully shaved.
Upon a further examination veterinary officials say the dogs will need dental surgery, and that they found cancer and tongue lesions on one of the females.
Out of this rescue officials say the parrot will be taken to a facility in Rhode Island to be cared for, while the dogs will go up for adoption once they’re medically cleared.
As for the homeowner, authorities say they don’t plan on pursuing any charges due to the nature of the original call.
