MANCHESTER, N.H.- Authorities say a total of eleven people were injured out a of multi-vehicle accident which sent a truck into the Merrimack River.
According to State Police around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday troopers responded to a call for an accident on I-293 North near Mile marker 2.8 involving six vehicles which featured at least two chain-reaction crashes.
Investigators say a 30 ft box truck driven by Dylan Pagan Rodriguez, 26, of Fall River, Mass., lost control of his vehicle, crashed through a guardrail and landed approximately 100 feet into the river.
Rodriguez, however, was able to get free of the vehicle and was able to wait atop the vehicle until helped arrived.
The crash ended resulting in seven out of the eleven people injured being transported to the hospital.
Authorities were forced to close I-293 down for a few hours in order to allow crews clear the scene and remove the truck from the water but note it was back open during the lunchtime hour.
