The New Hampshire attorney general is among more than 30 attorneys general urging Congress to pass legislation allowing cell phone jamming systems in jails and prisons. In a letter to lawmakers, the group said inmates use contraband cell phones to commit crimes, including drug trafficking operations, terrorizing witnesses and victims’ families and planning escape attempts. Federal law currently prohibits state and local governments from using cell phone jamming technology.
