MANCHESTER, N.H.- The New Hampshire Attorney General’s office has ruled Manchester Police were justified in their use of deadly force when officers shot and killed a man this past December.
According to a report released Wednesday the officers involved were cleared of any wrongdoing when they fired their weapons at Nickenley Turenne,24, out of a foot chase when he turned and pointed a flashlight at police who thought it was attached to a gun.
Investigators say police first found Turenne and a woman later identified as his girlfriend in a car near the Green Acres Elementary School on Mammoth Road, and that he got scared when an officer knocked on his window, drove away, leading police on a chase, then crashing and fleeing on foot.
