Autopsy reveals Masse died from self-inflicted gunshot following manhunt in Raymond

CONCORD, N.H.- An autopsy has revealed that Matthew J. Masse, the Raymond man wanted by police for shooting at officers and a member of his own family committed suicide following an exchange of gunfire with police.

According to the State Medical Examiner’s office Masse, 38, died from the single, gunshot to the head and his death has been ruled a suicide.

The latest news comes as the State is continuing its investigation into the use of deadly force by responding officers.

Authorities say Masse ended up surrounded by Police tactical units late Saturday following a manhunt which began when Raymond Police answered a call that an induvial which turned out to be Masse fired a rifle at a family member, which lead to Masse then opening fire on an officer from the Nottingham Police department.

Out of that shooting the Attorney General’s office say the officer involved suffered non-life threating injuries and is said to be doing ok; meanwhile an investigation into the actions of the officers who used deadly force is part of an ongoing investigation.
