A potential heat wave is on the horizon this week just before the official start of summer.
For those of you who will be heading to your favorite swimming holes, keep in mind you will have a lot of company. Pay special attention to bacteria warnings in the water. The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services says it detected high concentrations of cyanobacteria, also known as blue-green algae, at Carry and Brewster beaches in Wolfeboro and in Tuftonboro at 19-Mile Bay and Tuftonboro Neck. The affected areas will be resampled on June 19th.
For those in Manchester looking to stay cool, the pool at Livingston Park will open to the public today and the Manchester Fire Department says a cooling station will be available to the public on Tuesday and Wednesday at 39 Beech St.
