CONCORD, N.H.- A proposed Campus Carry bill that would allow citizens carry weapons was dealt a minor blow Thursday after the Senate Judiciary Committee concluded the bill needs more work.

As a result, the amended version of House Bill 1793 allows students to possess and carry non-lethal weapons such as Pepper spray or Tasers on state campuses.

Democrats argued against sending the legislation to a study committee and claimed that public testimony was overwhelmingly against the bill

Following Thursday’s decision the bill’s sponsor, Rep.Sam Farrington R-Rochester took to social media and defended his legislation saying “The bill is not dead yet. It ain’t over till it’s over.
