Car Crashed into Transmission Tower

An electricity transmission tower collapsed in Bedford Saturday night after a car crashed into it. Bedford police said a driver crashed into the tower on Back River Road causing around 800 customers to lose power. The driver, from Merrimack, was cited for speeding and driving too fast for the conditions. Eversource source customers had their power on by Sunday night, but the tower is owned by National Grid. More repairs will continue today.
