CLAREMONT, N.H.- District officials confirmed Thursday that its budget deficit totals more than $ 5 million.
On Wednesday interim business administrator Matthew Angell released the internal findings, which confirms the growing fears administrators had over just how deep in debt the district was.
Interim Superintendent Kerry Kennedy also announced that more unpaid bills are still being found but notes that the district will be able to substantially reduce that number by the end of the year.
The confirmation comes after the School Board voted last week to close Bluff Elementary School to help address the deficit by consolidating schools.
