MANCHESTER, N.H.- Folks across the Granite state are recovering from Thursday’s severe storms which brought torrential rains and heavy winds.

Out of the storm utility crews are working to restore power to customers left in the dark, as Eversource posted to its website Friday morning that more than 550,000 customers had already been served.

Officials note that the storm left its mark on a number of towns, including Derry which is being viewed among one of the hardest hit communities, as the heavy winds not only took down powerlines but also saw the heavy winds lift a portable toilet at the East Derry Memorial Elementary School off the ground and into the road several feet away.

Those folks still without power should contact their utility company and people are being reminded if you see downed powerlines, do not touch them, and instead call 911.
