MANCHESTER,N.H.- The defense rested it’s case Monday in the trial of the Berlin man accused of killing the mother of his children.
Dustin Duren has been charged with second-degree murder, reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and child endangerment in the murder of Caitlin Naffziger.
During his recent testimony Duren told the jury that Naffziger was demanding he pay her money he didn’t have, and if he didn’t she would report him for kidnapping and from there the two got involved in a struggle over one of the children, which led to one of his children crying and that’s when he told the court a line was crossed which led to him grabbing a gun.
Prosecutors say from there Duren then took his children and fled the area setting off an Amber alert only to be found in an Applebee’s parking lot in Keene a short time later.
Closing arguments are scheduled for later this morning.
