Concord, NH — Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald and Dover Police Chief William Breault announce additional information regarding the suspicious death investigation in Dover, New Hampshire.

On August 10, 2020, Amy Molter, age 46, was reported missing. On August 10 and August 11, 2020, the Dover Police responded to 577 Central Avenue #106, the residence of Ms. Molter’s ex-boyfriend, Rudy Ferretti, age 41. The police attempted to contact Mr. Ferretti, and received no answer.  Ultimately, on August 11, 2020, officers entered Mr. Ferretti’s apartment.  Inside, the police found Ms. Molter deceased on the living room floor, and Mr. Ferretti deceased in his bed.  A firearm was discovered near Mr. Ferretti.

New Hampshire Associate Medical Examiner Dr. Christine James determined that the cause of Ms. Molter’s death was a single gunshot wound to the head, and her manner of death was a homicide.  Dr. James determined that the cause of Mr. Ferretti’s death was a single gunshot wound to the head, and his manner of death was a suicide.

Although the investigation into the circumstances surrounding these two deaths remains active and ongoing, it appears that Mr. Ferretti shot and killed Ms. Molter, and then shot and killed himself.  No additional information is expected to be released at this time.
