Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police, Troop B Barracks in Bedford responded to a motor vehicle collision Wednesday morning on the Everett Turnpike southbound. On arrival they found that: 27 year old Colby Rezk of Nashua had been operating a 2009 Mazda passenger vehicle, and lost control of her vehicle which caused it to strike a 2012 Toyota Hatchback operated by 41 year old Andrew Desmond of Merrimack.
After crashing into the Toyota, Rezks’ vehicle rolled over the center guardrail and landed on the northbound side of the turnpike. Rezk was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital for non-life threating injuries. Desmond was not injured in this crash.
The left lane of the turnpike northbound and southbound had to be shut down for approximately two hour’s so the scene could be cleared up and the guardrail could be temporarily repaired.
Merrimack Fire, Police and DOT assisted at the scene.
The investigation revealed that Rezk had fallen asleep prior to the collision. Rezk was charged with Negligent Driving and will have to appear in the Nashua District Court on June 5th.
