An emergency declaration is allowing commercial drivers to work extra hours to deliver heating oil and propane while we endure these frigid temperatures. Department of Safety Commissioner Robert Quinn said Granite Staters are burning through oil and propane faster than usual because of the cold, which means heating companies need to increase deliveries to keep up with that demand. The longest time the restrictions have been lifted has been 14 days.
