Fatal crash involving school bus and pickup truck in Marlborough

MARLBOROUGH N.H. – New Hampshire State Police have identified the driver killed in a motor vehicle accident along Route 12 Friday morning involving a pickup truck and school bus.

According to a press release just after 7a.m. troopers responded to a report of a crash on Route 12 near Webb Depot Road and once on scene determined that the driver of the pickup had died in the crash, however none of the children aboard the bus were injured.

Authorities say the bus driven by James French, 77, of Keene was hit head-on by a truck driven by David Peloski, 74 of Swanzey.

Out of the crash State Police say French and the thirteen children aboard the bus, some of whom are students at the Monadnock Regional Highschool were taken to Cheshire Medical Center in Keene as a precaution. While French was transported out with injuries believed to be non-life threating,

Following the crash investigators say the exact circumstances of the morning’s events remain under investigation as the state’s medical Examiner’s office is scheduled to perform an autopsy on Peloski’s body.
