MANCHESTER, N.H.- The former treasurer of the Bedford Youth Lacrosse Association has pled guilty to theft charges for stealing more than $70,000 over an 8-year period.
On Wednesday Matthew D’Urso, 50, appeared in Hillsborough Superior Court North entering his plea and handed a check for just under $70,200 in restitution to association President Corin Wright.
According to court documents between 2013 and 2024, D’Urso made 46 unauthorized cash withdrawals from the association during his tenure but failed to submit the association’s required yearly tax filings to the IRS, which caused them to lose their status as a nonprofit organization in 2020.
It should be noted that this case has no connection to ongoing legal dispute between the Bedford School District and the Bedford Bulldogs Athletics Booster Club.
