KEENE, N.H.- A former State Trooper has been given a suspended sentence after accepting a plea deal for lying to authorities.

According to court documents James Lamoureux, 43, of Keene recently pleaded guilty to a single count of filing a false report to Law Enforcement after he lied about installing a GPS tracking device on both his now former girlfriend’s car and his own.

When confronted told police that someone else placed the devices on the vehicles, even though he also had a tracking application connected to the devices on his phone. Authorities also say he asked another induvial to give false statements to police about the devices.

According to the plea deal Lamoureux was sentenced to six months jail, with the sentence suspended for two years and has to resign from the State Police and surrender his law enforcement certification and be added to the national registry of decertified officers.
