Manchester Police are very pleased that 49-year-old, Vincent Chaney of Manchester, was found guilty of drug charges as well as numerous counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The charges against Chaney stem from the execution of a search warrant at his home on January 31, 2020. During the search, Manchester Special Enforcement Division investigators located over 76 grams of crack cocaine and seven loaded firearms.
Chaney was found guilty of Possession of Crack Cocaine with Intent to Sell and seven counts of being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The guilty verdicts came down after a two-day trial in the Hillsborough County Superior Court-North.
Chaney has yet to be sentenced, but could face a maximum sentence of life in prison for the drug charges and up to 10 to 30 years for each of the Felon in Possession charges. Chaney continues to be held without bail pending a sentencing hearing.
“This case serves as another example of the dedication and hard work Manchester Detectives do each day,” says Chief Allen Aldenberg. “As a result of this investigation we were able to remove seven illegally possessed firearms from the community. It is my hope that this will serve as a deterrent to those who illegally possess firearms as the consequences for doing so are significant.”
