HOOKSETT N.H.- Hooksett’s Town Council has voted to amend its default budget in order to reallocate funding for the Hooksetties, a group that holds regular luncheons for residents over 80 years old.

In a vote of 5 to 1 councilors amended the $24.6 million default budget, in order to reallocate $3,500 for the Hooksettites, after the town officials stopped providing support in 2024 for the group when they entered its first year in a default budget.

The funding suspension continued last year when voters again rejected the proposed municipal budget.

In order to fund the organization Councilors allocated some money earmarked for salary and benefits for the town engineer, a position that’s been vacant for about a year.
