HOOKSETT N.H. – Hooksett Police responded to the Places You’ll Grow Daycare on the Londonderry Turnpike in Hooksett Thursday for a report of a male armed with a large knife in the parking lot.

Officers arrived and were told the man in question was last seen going across the street. A police K9 was able to track the man to 164 Londonderry Turnpike.

Police arrested Christopher Benoit,39, of Hooksett and  according to police, Benoit admitted to being on the daycare property with the knife but was unable to give a logical reason why.

Benoit was charged with disorderly conduct, loitering and prowling, resisting arrest and being a felon in possession of a deadly weapon.

He is scheduled to appear in court July 9th.

The children at the daycare were quickly escorted inside by employees and all accounted for with no injuries.
