Attorneys for the pickup driver whose collision with a group of bikers last year left seven motorcyclists dead say some of his statements made to police should not be part of his upcoming trial. Attorneys for Volodymyr Zhukovskyy say their client indicated during the interview that he didn’t want to answer any more questions. The interview into Zhukovskyy’s drug use and his actions the day of the crash continued, which the defense argues is a violation of his Miranda rights. Attorneys for the state argued Zhukovskyy’s comment was ambiguous and no reason to halt the interview. Superior Court Judge Peter Bornstein said he would take the matter under advisement and issue a ruling later.
