CONCORD, N.H.- A state legislative budget oversight committee has given Youth Development Center Settlement Fund administrator Gerard Boyle $20 million to restart hearings for damage awards from alleged victims who suffered either sexual or physical abuse while in state custody.

During the hearing Boyle was quick to inform the committee that the amount will allow for hearings to last until early November before he’ll have to return and request more money.

The decision and amount comes after both Boyle and Attorney General John Formella had previously asked the panel for $55 million saying the larger amount would be enough to support the fund through the end of next June.

Following the hearing Boyle said that he’ll resume hearings on award requests starting in early August.
