MANCHESTER, N.H.- Eduardo Lopez Jr., the man convicted of murder out of an armed robbery back in 1991has been granted parole.

On Thursday Lopez, 52, was granted parole in the shooting death of well-known Nashua businessman and restaurant owner Robert Goyette.

Lopez was originally sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole before becoming one of five people in the Granite State who was granted a new hearing after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2012 that mandatory sentences of life without the possibility of parole are unconstitutional for juvenile offenders.

Following his resentencing, in 2018 Lopez was sentenced to 45 years to life.

As part of his parole conditions, Lopez is not allowed to interact with Goyette’s family nor is he allowed to enter the city of Nashua where many of Goyette’s family members live.
