LONDONDERRY, N.H, – A former Lawrence, Massachusetts, police officer is facing charges for allegedly impersonating an officer.
Authorities say the incident began Sunday when a driver told police that an SUV ahead of them on Rockingham Road was traveling slowly and when the driver flashed their headlights, the SUV activated blue police lights and sped away.
Police found the driver of that SUV in a parking lot and identified him as Mikel Beltran.
When stopped Beltran told police he was a member of the Lawrence police department and told Londonderry Police he had forgotten his Police Identification at home.
However, when Londonderry police contacted officials at the Lawrence Police Department, authorities said Beltran’s certification was suspended. Beltran was taken into custody.
