On November 24, 2019 around 9pm, Manchester Police responded to the area of Beech and Salmon Streets for a report of a man attempting to break into someone’s home. Police made contact with a man meeting the description the caller had given. He was identified as 33 year old Keith Kevorkian of Derry.
Kevorkian wasn’t cooperative with police and struggled with them. He ended up getting bitten by a K9 as they tried to arrest him. Kevorkian was also found to have Suboxone on him.
He was charged with Loitering/Prowling, Possession of a Controlled Drug and Resisting Arrest.
Kevorkian was booked and released on PR bail.
At 2:30 am, Manchester Police were dispatched to the area of 259 Clay Street for a man reportedly trying to get into an apartment building. The caller said the man was banging on the front door and yelling. When police arrived they identified the person as Keith Kevorkian. He was again arrested, this time for Disorderly Conduct and Violation of Bail and taken back to the Manchester Police Department. He was booked and ultimately transported to the Hillsborough County House of Corrections. Kevorkian was arraigned this morning in Manchester Circuit Court and again released on PR bail. He has another court date on December 12th.
“This is a perfect example of why my frustration continues to grow every time someone is charged with a crime and released within hours of their arrest.” says Chief Carlo Capano,” Manchester officers work tirelessly to serve and keep our community safe, and it disheartening to know that despite their efforts, these people are allowed to walk free and often times reoffend with little to no consequences. We don’t expect every person arrested to be held, but when it comes to public safety we have to hold people accountable.”
