Man charged with indecent exposure

Manchester Police responded to Family Dollar at approximately 2:40 p.m. on January 6, 2019 for an alleged indecent exposure incident involving an adult male and an eight year-old victim. Officer Jeffrey Fierimonte spoke with the female victim and her mother inside of the store shortly after the incident took place.

The little girl stated the unknown man exposed himself while standing inside of the store. She provided a description of the suspect and also told her mother the unknown man was wearing a long, dark colored jacket at the time his genitals were exposed. She told her mother about the incident once they left the store, so they went back inside Family Dollar to wait for police. The suspect had vacated the store prior to police arrival, but Officer Fierimonte was able to gather still photographs of the suspect from the surveillance camera.

Officer Eric Desmarais identified the male earlier today, so Detectives Scott Riley and Nick Georgoulis of the Juvenile Unit followed up on the case. They arrested Jeffrey Gelinas, 43 of Manchester, New Hampshire outside of his Union Street home around 1:00 p.m. today.

Gelinas was charged with indecent exposure (felony) and also placed on a 72 hour hold for a probation/parole violation. He is scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on January 9, 2019.
