Man dies after crash on I-93 Windham

On February 8th, 2021 at approximately 8:00 AM, Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop B Barracks along with fire and medical personnel from the Windham Fire Department responded to the report of a single motor vehicle crash Interstate 93 South near miler marker 8.4 in Windham.

Upon arrival, it was determined that a 2018 Nissan NV2500 Van had lost control, entered the center median and struck the guard rail. The Nissan continued south for a short distance before coming to rest in the snow bank in the center median. The operator of the vehicle was identified as  69 year old Robert Day of Derry, NH.

As a result of the crash the operator was transported to the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH where he ultimately succumbed to a medical condition.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the accident is a result of the operator suffering from a medical condition, however, all aspects remain under investigation and anyone who may have witnessed it is asked to contact Trooper T. Repucci at Timothy.Repucci@dos.nh.gov or 603-223-8836.
