Several Elm Street restaurants will expand their outdoor seating areas onto the street itself July 20 after Manchester aldermen voted Tuesday to cordon off one-sixth of the street’s parking spaces with concrete barriers according to the Union Leader.
Manchester joins other communities across New Hampshire in offering the option to businesses struggling to gain a financial toehold in the post-pandemic entertainment economy Owners can still apply to use the parking spaces in front of their businesses.
Public works crews are expected to install the barriers the weekend of July 18-19. They will remain in place through Oct. 11.
