MANCHESTER, N.H.- The Manchester School Board has approved updates to it’s policy when it comes to transgender student-athletes.
In a vote of 12-2 Monday night the board approved the plan to update district policies, bringing them further in line with State law that requires student-athletes only participate on teams that align with their biological sex.
The decision also comes after the U.S. Supreme Court in June upheld other states’ bans on transgender girls from participating in girls’ sports.
However the topic is one that has been previosuly discussed on within the district and has resulted in a clear non-discrimination policy being enacted when it comes to transgender athletes.
