It is with great sadness that the Merrimack Police Department announces the passing of K9 Pluto who had recently been diagnosed with cancer. K9 Pluto has been a member of the Merrimack Police Department since October of 2018 and was one and half years of age.
His handler and officer with whom he lived, Master Patrol Officer Stephen Wallin, stated Pluto was one of the best working dogs he has seen. K9 Pluto showed a willingness to work hard and his devotion to his handler, as well as the other members of the Merrimack Police Department, was evident in K9 Pluto’s performance. Master Patrolman Wallin and K9 Pluto held a Patrol certification through the Boston Police Department.
Thank you to the caring and compassionate veterinarians who diligently cared for K9 Pluto, especially Dr. Audrey Karamourtopoulos and Dr. Clay Baker of the Fremont Animal Hospital, and staff at The Rockingham Emergency Veterinary Hospital.
