MANCHESTER, N.H.- A mistrial has been declared in the state’s case against former Youth Development Center employee Jeffrey Buskey.

On Tuesday Judge William Delker made the decision after deciding the jury should not hear about additional allegations of abuse from Buskey’s accuser David Meehan, and after concluding a second round of instructions to disregard the testimony would not be effective enough to correct the error.

Buskey, a former employee of the Manchester-based Youth Development Center during the 1990s was facing more than 20 counts of felonious sexual assault all of which he had plead not guilty to.

Following this move Assistant Attorney General Thomas Velardi noted that the state plans to review its options moving forward now that the initial trial has been halted. Velardi also noted that the state can pursue charges against Buskey in the future.

It should be noted that WFEA News doesn’t generally identify victims of sexual assault, however the decision to mention his name in this article comes after the induvial mentioned, David Meehan openly  identified himself in a previous trial.
